Eyton’s tree ducks – all grown up!

Our family of Eyton’s tree ducks are growing up fast and are the cutest little family. One of the ducklings you will notice from the photo is rather small, but none the less is doing well. You often find one duckling from a brood ends up being the ‘runt'. Check out the before and after photos to see how much they have changed in one month.

Soon they will be old enough to fend for themselves. They are temporarily in one of our secure duckling enclosures. I’m sure you will agree that they are truly stunning birds, and it has been lovely to watch them grow and develop. We will continue to update you on their progress.

It is wonderful to showcase our beautiful park to so many enthusiastic people every day. A big thank you to everyone who has taken part in encounters this year. To get involved with the action, please click on the link below to find out how.

Wildest Date - Engagement present

On Sunday were were joined by Sarah and Jackson, they enjoyed a ‘Wildest Date’ with us as a very special engagement present.
They had a wonderful time meeting all of our animals, especially our adorable joey Jacob. Here they are giving Jacob lots of cuddle and his morning milk feed.

They then enjoyed a champagne lunch on the terrace. It was also the first time they had ever had champagne!

Super smart penguins after moult

Our Humboldt Penguins are almost finished moulting and have their brand new shiny set of waterproof feathers. When they have moulted they looked like brand new Penguins, perfect black and white in colour.
However some of our characters are yet to finish and are looking not quite their best! Our famous Penguin Dippy is looking rather fat and fluffy! Bless Dippy he never does moult very well, he is almost always first to start and last to finish. Where as Skipper another one of our friendly characters has finished his moult and is looking really smart.

So come on down to Seaview and meet our colony, within a few weeks they will all look stunning.
